Letter #38 3-30-2015 Laramie Wyoming

Hey Everyone!!!
This week was a lot better!! Well transfers are on Tuesday and me and Elder Corpus are staying for another 6 weeks! This is Elder Corpus’s last 6 weeks of his mission so he has mixed feelings about everything, but I will be the only one calling on Mothers day cause he does not care too seeing that he will go home 2 day's later! But so it will be fun he is only my second comp I have had now for more than one transfer in my mission.
This week was fun and we got to see a lot of people. Tuesday we had 9 lessons which was crazy just ask people who have served a mission! But the one that stands out to me is when we went and saw a older sister in our ward and we went just cause we felt like we needed to go see her.  And when we got there she was not doing too well she was having a hard week and day. Because her son who is 21 years old is in the Marines and just got shipped out for his 1st time over seas since being out of basic training. And she was vary scared of what he would be doing and the things that could happen to him. So I asked her “would you like to have a blessing given to you?” And she said yes that would be great!! And she ask me to give it to her. And that was a cool experience for me just with how strong the spirit was there during the blessing. And so we left after that and we told her we would come back in a couple of days to see how she was doing. So when we went back to see her she was doing better and this time our ward mission leader was there with us and we decided to ask for her sons mailing address and we had all the primary yesterday make him a little card and we would send it to him because he would love that.
I know the Lord know what people need at the times they need them and he loves us so much and wants us to be happy! So listen to the Lord and never give up on praying and talking to him "HE LOVES YOU" more than any one you know. He and our Father in Heaven want us to be happy! Well I love you all and miss you all a lot I hope all is well with everyone!

Letter #37 3-23-2015 Laramie Wyoming

Hey Everyone!!
This week was very slow!!! And hard cause it was spring break and even though I am in a family ward there were still not as many people here to see and the people that were here could not see us. So we had a lot of free time and tracting gets long after one or 2 hours of doing it, especially when it is not working.
But with this week being hard it builds character in a person. And that is true for me cause when there is nothing to do you think back and you are not focused on the work and we are out here for 2 years to work our hardest and be our best. Because there is no other time in our lives were we can put all of our focus on 1 thing and that is the Lord and His plan for His children who He loves more then we can even imagine.
But out of all of this I did learn one thing this week and that is recognizing the blessings the Lord has given you and what you truly have in your life. I just had some time to think about that and Family and Friends and what they have done for me, and the person they have help me become for this mission. Heavenly Father puts every person you meet in your life for a reason there is something we all have that others don't, that can help them or they can help us with something.
And now as a missionary I have learned a lot more and am trying to become someone the Lord want's me to be for the people I know here, and at home, to help. We all have talents that no one else has, only you have, and it will bless someones life.
I am grateful for the people in my I life and what they do for me and how they have helped me. So this week I invite everyone who reads this to each night think of something or someone you are lucky to have and by the end of the week you will have 7+ things. And if you cant think of something look for small things cause Christ has given us so much and we all have something.
I love you all so much and am grateful to all of you and the people you have been to me. I pray for all of you every night and for my new friends I have met here. I hope you all have a wonderful week and cant wait to hear about it!!!

Love you all

Letter #36 3-16-2015 Laramie Wyoming

Hey everyone!!!
Well glad to hear you all liked the pepper thing I did, well try it you wont like it so much then haha! Well this has been a good week, humbling but good! We all need to realize how blessed we all are with what we have and just growing up we have had so much compared to some people I am teaching here.
The song count your blessings is so true because we all have so many and that is a privilege that we have. But no matter the problems we face every day the Lord will not give us what we can not bare. And He is always there for you and I and loves and cares about all of us more than we can even imagine. He will do anything for us that is best for us in the long run and at that time. Even if we think it is best at that time for us it may not be so we need to trust!
I have seen this a lot while working with people and all they want is everything right then and there! Sometimes that does not happen and sometimes it takes some time! The Lord wants to see us try to find our way. But He will help us and not make us go all the way on our own.
This is very hard sometimes I have found out through my life but he does answer our prayers I know he does. And we are never by ourselves Jesus Christ came to earth and suffered everything we have gone through so we would not be alone. He knows how we feel and He will help us get through things! Well I love you all and hope you have a good week this week! And mom I did get some photos but some did not come through!

Letter #35 3-10-2015 Laramie Wyoming

Hey Everyone!!
Well we had no where to write yesterday so we could not write home so that is why I am writing today to all of you. Well this week was a fun week and yes mom I did get the package and thanks for that it was fun to get!! Holy crap Eric stealing home is no joke that is cool!!!
Well a week or 2 ago me and my comp had a dinner appointment with a family named the C_ and it was a lot of fun and at this dinner they started talking about hot peppers and what peppers are the hottest ones in the world and things like that. Well the hottest pepper in the world is the Carolina Reaper. So the next day around 10 am we got a call from Sister C_ saying “hey I am ordering 6 of these peppers we want to do missionary vs Carolina Reaper.” So we accepted the challenge and agreed to do it...  Well Saturday of last week was the big day when each of us had to eat one pepper.
So I am going to us this as an analogy comparing what the pepper is like and how that relates to how the adversary works against us.
So when you first put the pepper in your mouth it has a sweet taste and does not burn at all. That is Satan, he makes things look sweet and good that really are not. Then after about a minute it starts to burn a little but still bearable. Satan then goes one step farther "hey you already did this so this is not as bad you thought so you can do it  and you will be ok." That is what he makes us think.  And then about another minute into it, it starts to get really bad and some people start tearing up, some get the hick ups and some it just burns really bad! Haha trust me I know!!! And then in 6 minutes is when you peek and it is at the hottest point. And this is like hitting rock bottom and Satan is like “you have gone too far, you can not be forgiven there is not point even trying.”
Well that is a lie and we know it because we have the Atonement of Jesus Christ to help us everyday of every week. We are not perfect and the Lord does not expect us to be. That is why He gave us the great gift of the Atonement.  I cant remember where I was reading a few weeks ago but I read in one of the Church magazines something like “He, even when it may not be the perfect decision to make, Christ would rather see us make that decision, let us use our free agency, and not drag us along and tell us every thing we should do. Because when we make a choice, we might learn, “hey that was not the best choice.” At that very moment we become more Christ like and more like Him.
Now what is the Atonement comparison, well we need help to cool our mouth down from those peppers, so what we use was ice cream and milk, and the ice cream and milk help a little and take some of the pain away but not fully. When we repent we need to feel that pain and sorrow for what we have done and it helps us through that pain a little more. And then after we take the rest of the steps of repentance we can be forgiven but it takes TIME! Just like in eating the peppers, it takes time for the burn to go away and for your mouth to feel better. It took about 15-20 minutes for all of us to be back to 100% haha! It was fun!
Well I know that repentance and the atonement work! Never think otherwise.

Well I love you all and care about everyone of you! Hope you have a fun week!

Letter #34 3-2-2015 Laramie Wyoming

Hey Everyone!!
Well it is so nice today it is 30 degrees with no wind so no jacket for me!! And mom I hope you sent the package to the new address that I gave you or I will never get it they will just throw it out president told us that, with packages!
Well this week was great we had a district meeting and it was on being Successful as a missionary and what we think that is.
There is a quote from a motivational speech we heard. It said "when you want to succeed as bad as you want to breath then you will be successful!" We all want to see thing happen but we need to want it bad enough that we will do anything for that. As missionaries we get out of the house at 10am and go till 9pm, and everyone thinks a missionary’s success is  based of how many people we baptize. Well that is not true we are here to teach through the spirit and when we do that we learn too and that is the most important thing, that we convert ourself and the best way is through teaching people and helping them feel the spirit!
But we all are missionary's every day all the time. People know a lot about Mormons and the things we mainly should not do and they are always watching all the time even if we think they are not sometimes. Now that is even more true when we have a name tag on. People know what missionary's look like and should do. There are two names on our missionary name tags, one name is Elder Urry which represents my family and who I am and where I am from! But the most important name on my tag is Jesus Christ. People see that and this is who we are trying to represent all the time and when we are dedicated to Him and trying to become like Him that is what changes us and make us become a better person! Also changes come with all the thing we go through out here in the mission field. But we need to try to be like our Savior every day! And we all can do that cause every person has that light in them, the Light of Christ, and can become like Him.

Well I loved the photos and hearing about the week hope all goes well this coming week.
Well love you all!!!
